Ingredients

1 pound ground chicken

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 red bell pepper, diced

1 cup mushrooms, finely chopped

1 small onion, diced

2-3 Thai bird's eye chilies, finely chopped (adjust to taste)

3 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon fish sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves, loosely packed

1 head of butter lettuce or iceberg lettuce, leaves separated

Sliced cucumber and carrots for garnish

Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

Prep the Lettuce: Start by gently washing and drying the lettuce leaves. Set aside on a clean kitchen towel to dry completely.

Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add Veggies: Stir in the diced onions, red bell pepper, and mushrooms, cooking for about 3-4 minutes until they are softened.

Add Ground Chicken: Increase the heat to high and add the ground chicken to the skillet. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned and cooked through, around 5-7 minutes.

Flavor the Mixture: Once the chicken is fully cooked, stir in the chopped bird's eye chilies (adjust the amount to your spice preference), soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and brown sugar. Mix everything well and cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Add Basil: Remove the skillet from heat and fold in the fresh Thai basil leaves until they just wilt from the residual heat.

Assemble Wraps: Take a lettuce leaf, spoon a generous amount of the chicken mixture into the center, and top with sliced cucumbers and carrots.

Serve: Squeeze fresh lime juice over each wrap for an added burst of flavor. Enjoy immediately!
