Ingredients

1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups fresh broccoli florets

1 red bell pepper, sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

½ cup beef broth

2 green onions, chopped

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Cooked jasmine rice or quinoa, for serving

Toasted sesame seeds, for garnish

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes for better flavor.

Prepare the Stir-Fry Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the beef broth, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Set aside.

Cook the Broccoli: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and sliced red bell pepper. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they become tender-crisp, then remove them from the skillet and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Beef: In the same skillet, add the marinated beef. Cook on high heat for about 3-5 minutes or until the beef is browned and cooked through, stirring frequently.

Combine Everything: Return the broccoli and bell pepper to the skillet with the beef. Pour in the stir-fry sauce and toss everything together, allowing it to simmer for an additional 30 seconds to 1 minute until everything is well coated and heated through.

Finish and Serve: Serve the stir-fry over a bed of cooked jasmine rice or quinoa. Garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds for an extra touch.
