Ingredients

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into thin strips

salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

12 oz fettuccine or linguine pasta

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup capers, drained

Juice of 1 lemon

1 tablespoon lemon zest

Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken strips with salt and pepper.

Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the olive oil. Add the chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

Add Liquids: Pour in the chicken broth and stir, scraping up any bits stuck to the bottom of the pan. Then, stir in the heavy cream. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Cook the Pasta: Add the pasta to the skillet, making sure it is submerged in the cream mixture. Cook according to the package instructions, usually around 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

Mix Everything: Once the pasta is al dente, stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, capers, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Mix well to combine all the flavors, adding a bit more broth if the sauce is too thick.

Add Chicken Back: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and stir gently to combine. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with fresh chopped parsley, and serve immediately while hot.
