Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons baking powder

1 tablespoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

1 3/4 cups milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 pound breakfast sausage (patties or bulk)

4 slices cheddar cheese

8 slices crispy cooked bacon

Maple syrup, for drizzling

Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Optional: fresh arugula or sliced tomatoes for topping

Instructions

Make the Waffle Batter:

    - In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

      - In another bowl, beat the eggs, then mix in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

        - Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; some lumps are okay.

          Preheat the Waffle Iron:

            - Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Lightly grease it with cooking spray or melted butter if needed.

              Cook the Waffles:

                - Pour an appropriate amount of batter into the waffle iron (typically about 1/2 to 3/4 cup, depending on your waffle iron size).

                  - Close the lid and cook until golden brown and crispy, approximately 4-5 minutes. Repeat until all batter is used. You should have about 8 square waffles.

                    Cook the Sausage:

                      - While the waffles are cooking, heat a skillet over medium-high heat. If using bulk sausage, form it into small patties about the size of your waffles; if using pre-made patties, cook them according to package instructions.

                        - Cook the sausage patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side until nicely browned and cooked through.

                          Assemble the Sliders:

                            - On a cooked waffle, place one sausage patty, followed by a slice of cheddar cheese and two slices of crispy bacon.

                              - Top with another waffle to create a burger. Repeat for the remaining ingredients.

                                Serve:

                                  - Place the waffle breakfast burger sliders on a serving platter. Drizzle with maple syrup and season with freshly cracked black pepper or add fresh arugula or sliced tomatoes for a pop of color and flavor.

                                    - Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious creation!
