Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons olive oil

Juice and zest of 2 limes

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon cumin

Salt and pepper to taste

8 small corn tortillas

1 cup red cabbage, finely shredded

1 avocado, sliced

Fresh cilantro for garnish

Lime wedges for serving

Optional: sour cream or a cilantro-lime crema for topping

Instructions

Marinate the Shrimp: In a medium bowl, combine the shrimp, minced garlic, olive oil, lime juice, lime zest, chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat all the shrimp evenly. Cover and let marinate for 15-20 minutes in the refrigerator.

Cook the Shrimp: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated shrimp in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque, being careful not to overcook them. Remove from heat.

Warm the Tortillas: While the shrimp are cooking, warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until they are pliable and have slight char marks. Alternatively, you can wrap them in foil and warm them in the oven.

Assemble the Tacos: Place a few pieces of shrimp on each tortilla. Top with shredded red cabbage, slices of avocado, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro.

Serve: Serve the tacos immediately with lime wedges on the side for extra zest. Add a dollop of sour cream or cilantro-lime crema if desired.
