Ingredients

2 cans (15 oz each) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon ground cumin

½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

½ teaspoon black pepper

Optional: A squeeze of lime for serving

Optional: Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.

Prepare the Chickpeas: After rinsing the chickpeas thoroughly, spread them on a clean kitchen towel or paper towel and pat them dry. Removing excess moisture is key to achieving crispy results.

Season the Chickpeas: In a large bowl, combine the dried chickpeas with olive oil, Sriracha sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Toss well until all chickpeas are evenly coated with the spice mixture.

Spread on Baking Sheet: Transfer the seasoned chickpeas to the prepared baking sheet. Spread them out in a single layer to ensure even roasting and to avoid steaming.

Roast the Chickpeas: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for 25-30 minutes, shaking the pan or stirring the chickpeas every 10 minutes. Keep an eye on them to ensure they do not burn. They are done when they are golden brown and incredibly crunchy.

Cool Down: Once roasted, remove the chickpeas from the oven and let them cool slightly on the baking sheet. They will continue to crisp up as they cool.

Serve: Serve warm as a snack or sprinkle with chopped fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice for extra zest. Enjoy your crunchy treat!
