Crispy Baked Mozzarella Dippers

12 oz mozzarella string cheese, cut into halves or thirds

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

Cooking spray or olive oil, for drizzling

Marinara sauce, for serving (optional)

Prep the Cheese: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Place a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat on your counter.

    Set Up Dredging Stations: In three separate shallow dishes, prepare the coating assemblies:

      - In the first dish, place the flour seasoned with salt and pepper.

        - In the second dish, pour the beaten eggs.

          - In the third dish, mix the panko breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

            Coat the Mozzarella: Take each piece of mozzarella cheese and dip it first into the flour, shaking off any excess. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, ensuring it's fully coated. Finally, roll the cheese in the seasoned panko mixture, pressing the breadcrumbs gently onto the cheese to adhere well. Place the coated dippers on the prepared baking sheet.

              Bake the Dippers: Once all mozzarella pieces are coated and arranged on the baking sheet, lightly spray or drizzle them with cooking spray or olive oil for extra crispiness. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

                Surf and Serve: Remove the dippers from the oven and let them sit for a couple of minutes. Serve hot with warm marinara sauce for dipping.
