Ingredients

20 jumbo pasta shells

2 cups fresh spinach, chopped

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups marinara sauce

½ cup heavy cream

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the jumbo pasta shells and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside to cool slightly.

Prepare the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine chopped spinach, ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Stuff the Shells: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Carefully stuff each cooked shell with the spinach and cheese filling using a small spoon or piping bag, ensuring they are generously filled.

Prepare the Sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the marinara sauce and heavy cream. Stir well and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Assemble the Dish: Spread a thin layer of the creamy marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Arrange the stuffed shells seam-side up in the dish. Pour the remaining sauce on top of the shells, ensuring they are well covered. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.

Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Garnish and Serve: Once golden, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
