Ingredients

20 jumbo pasta shells

2 cups ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta Shells: Boil a large pot of salted water. Add the jumbo pasta shells and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, making sure to keep the shells upright to prevent sticking.

Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, parsley, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended and creamy.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Assemble the Shells: Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce evenly across the bottom of a large baking dish. Carefully stuff each cooked pasta shell with the cheese mixture using a spoon or piping bag. Place the stuffed shells in the baking dish.

Top with Sauce and Cheese: Once all shells are in the dish, pour the remaining marinara sauce over the top. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. After that, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and lightly golden.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
