Ingredients

2 cans of refrigerated crescent roll dough

3 medium-sized apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and diced

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

1/2 cup raisins (optional)

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

Prepare the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the diced apples, brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of cinnamon, nutmeg, pecans, and raisins. Mix well until the apples are thoroughly coated with the sugar and spices.

Roll out the crescent dough: Open the crescent roll tubes and carefully unroll the dough. Lay the triangles flat on a clean surface, pinching the seams together to form a solid rectangle.

Add the apple filling: Spread a generous portion of the apple mixture evenly over the dough. Start from the wide side of the rectangle and roll it up tightly into a log shape. Pinch the edges to seal.

Slice the rolls: Cut the roll into 1-inch thick slices and place them in the greased baking dish in a single layer.

Make the cream cheese frosting: In a separate bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream until you achieve a smooth consistency.

Pour over rolls: Drizzle the cream cheese frosting over the sliced rolls in the baking dish. Then, drizzle the melted butter over the top for added richness.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and puffed up.

Cool & serve: Once baked, let the rolls cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Drizzle any remaining frosting on top before serving warm.

Enjoy: Serve with a sprinkle of powdered sugar or a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side for an indulgent treat!
