Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)

1 bunch of fresh asparagus (about 1 lb), trimmed

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic until well combined. Set aside.

Season the Salmon: Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.

Sauté Asparagus: In an oven-safe pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the asparagus and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until they’re bright green and slightly tender.

Add Salmon to Pan: Push the asparagus to the side of the pan and place the salmon fillets skin-side down. Drizzle half of the honey garlic sauce over the salmon and asparagus.

Bake: Transfer the pan to the preheated oven. Bake for approximately 8-10 minutes, or until the salmon is just cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Glaze the Salmon: During the last 2 minutes of baking, drizzle the remaining honey garlic sauce over the salmon. If you like a bit of crispiness, you can broil on high for the last 1-2 minutes. Keep a close eye to avoid burning!

Serve: Remove the pan from the oven and drizzle with sesame oil (if using). Garnish with sesame seeds and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
